ResponderEliminarNowadays, is crucial to understand the differences among cultures in order to approach effective communication processes in a variety of environments and circumstances, such as workplaces and meetings abroad. The main purpose of this paper is to present a reflection about the relevance of non-verbal communication in a globalized present, and how it mediates people’s interactions and behaviors.
EliminarI may refer to non-verbal communication as a group of non-verbal cues that people use to send a determined message in a punctual context; sometimes in an accurate and appropriate way, sometimes don´t. All this cues are signs that have been structured by the influence of social conventions and manners that, in some cases like in Asian cultures, have been there for thousands of years.
To be a human means to have a specific context, heritage and cultural background. It means that all around the world we´ll find different ways to greet, to demonstrate respect, to say good bye, etc. And, as foreign student or employed, you must be aware of where you are, and most important, of which manners are used to use in the specific context that you’ll be involved in. That´s way non-verbal communication play’s such an important role in order to achieve reliable communicating processes.
EliminarFor instance, if you are going to have a meeting with the main manager of the company, and he has come from Japan, you must be aware of how important punctuality is in Japanese culture. If you arrive on time it means that you are respectful and committed.
Furthermore, let´s say that you are just on time for this meeting. But, you must take into account another crucial aspect of Japanese culture before the meeting begins. For sure, you´re used to greet by a handshake but, in contrast with us, Asian cultures used to bow as an etiquette tradition.

EliminarLet´s see a slide to clarify the concept:

Finally, is possible to affirm that non-verbal communication refers to relevant differences among cultures in terms of how people use and understand body language in order to approach a successful communication process. Now, I could say that the key for future cultural exchanges is to be mindful of the meaning of different kinds of non-verbal cues, depending on the context, the values and the cultural background in which you’ll be involved.

Dear Juan Pablo:
EliminarIn regards to your paper I have some comments:
1. It is well organized and easy to read.
2. The reflection shown is what we are expecting students to do, the purpose is to raise awareness of the importance of non verbal communication and based on your paper I think the objective is accomplished. :)
3. In regards to language use I would like you to consider the following:
- Avoid contractions when writing and academic paper
- Sometimes you ommit subject pronouns, check this.
- The use of some connectors show that you are transfering the use of some connectors in spanish, check this.
- Proof-read this paragraph:Furthermore, let´s say that you are just on time for this meeting. But, you must take into account another crucial aspect of Japanese culture before the meeting begins. For sure, you´re used to greet by a handshake but, in contrast with us, Asian cultures used to bow as an etiquette tradition.
Good Job! :)

EliminarThe importance of non-verbal communication in modern society
ResponderEliminarIn modern society, also known as knowledge society, we have been faced to the technological evolution to a higher speed, so the non-verbal communication presented some problems above all in young people with social networks as Facebook, Twitter and other, because this communication not is taken into account now; additionally, several cultures has different forms to communicate; for these reasons are important to learn and properly use this communication when we are in community.
First is essential that we have clear what is non- verbal communication? Mainly, non-verbal communication is a visual display of what someone thinks and feels, in a moment (Clayton, 2008). Some elements fundamental of non-verbal communication (gestures, facial expressions and props) that we will consider when are in any culture are keeps a safe distance with the head being polite; show a good physical appearance; keep the eye contact this produces security and trust; look the face shows that the person is comfortable (social zone); avoid nose and ears touching; maintain an appropriate tone; voice becomes flatter; be able to of listen to the other person; use props as a way of reinforcing the main points when you speak, as pen, pencil, eraser (Reardon, 2010).
Continue . . .
Some cases in the society are when the boss or manager says an order to the secretary in the work place and she is disagreeing, but she can’t speak about the topic. This situation happens in several international and national companies when the most important in these are mandatory, and the last in these companies are the thinking’s and feels of the workers. However, some books as “The good manager – a guide for the twenty-first century manager” of Dean Gualco say several essential aspects for be a good boss in any company around the world. For instances, select a job because this likes you; accumulation and utilization of knowledge this is useful when you need make a decision; be able to of organization the variety of responsibilities; a boss not only commands also work hard; listen, understood and develop a good communication in the different situations; finally a good boss or manager is a good person, because he or she be able to control her/his feels and insecurities (Gualco, 2010).
EliminarOther example happed in some families around the world, when the young people not is listening or understood for their parents or they not perceive non-verbal communication in their sons, this situation makes that the young person make mistakes or mistaken with their life, as smoking, suicidal and drink alcohol all time. In very occasions these attitudes are influence by friends of colleges or school. The book “Helping Children and Young People Who Self-Harm: An Introduction to Self-harming and sucial behaviarours for health professionals” reference that a young people might say that feel calm when they look quite agitated, or also a young person may say they feel fine when they are clearly upset. These tips are essential for those parents identify problems in theirs sons (McDougall, Armstrong, & Trainor, 2010).
Continue . . .
A final case is when in the classroom a teacher emitted nonverbal signals this influence in the classroom atmosphere, some may be students moods, perception, learning and eventually attitudes towards knowledge and school generally. On the other hand, teacher has powerful tool to identify what is actually going on with his class in general and each individual per se, without any word being said. This is extremely important in lecture like classes when teacher is primarily supposed to talk. A teacher can also use facial expressions as valuable sources for give feedback to students. When, for instances, delivering a lecture, a teacher should use student’s expressions to determine whether or not to slow down, speed up, or in some other way modify his presentation (Hurt).
EliminarIn conclusion, with the previous information in the future the people could be more careful with the use non-verbal communication, and also they could identify more clearing when a person uses non-verbal communication in a conversation. Additionally, we should not be forgotten that non-verbal communication is a process essential in the daily life of every people.

Dear Ana,
EliminarThe paper shows preparation and effort, this is something you need to consider to write successful papers.
I also like the way you include authors and references, it gives the text a more academic style which I find very interesting. However, I would like to suggest revision of the appropriacy of some of the quotes you used; this is because is some parts the paper sounds repetitive and there are some ideas that are not clearly related. Also, I would like you to meet me so that we can talk and work on some grammar mistakes.
Good sources and good way to include references
It is not very clear why the reference to technology and its use is included.
It would be enriching to consider the last two comments as well.
EliminarGood Job! :)
The purpose of this blog is explain the importance of the use of non-verbal communication for have a correct use in the different situations of daily life and the different cultures in the world. The body language is the form of express the feelings or attitudes about a situation that are listening or saying without use words, this type of expressions could be the gestures, hands or arms movements, positions of the body, etc. So it is important for can interpret what are the others thinking about a particular situation, or for learn how to behave in a job interview, or when are visiting another culture for prevent disadvantages for misusing the body language. In this document I am going to talk about the principal use of body language in the society.
ResponderEliminarFirst when you are in a job interview is important that you manage very well the body language, because if you don’t do it is possible that you don’t get the job, for example if you don’t sit correctly, have you arms crossed, and a facial expression of boring, you express that don’t need the job and don’t convince the boss and of course you don’t get the job. For that is important that you practice before to go in front of a mirror or whit another person like a friend that say you what are doing wrong for can manage well the body language and can get the job.
Second if you visit another culture you have to manage very good the body language because if don’t do it is possible that you have problems, for example in Japan when people are visiting the house they offer a traditional meal and if you don’t eat you can be very impolite and interpreted like a person undesirable for them, if they are speaking and you interrupt them is possible that you be interpreted like an impatient person are that you are very disrespectful, (1) so is important that you research and speak whit native person of this culture before to go for can learn the important aspects of the body language for this culture and prevent misunderstandings and problems with this persons.
Third when you are making a presentation in public you have to manage well the body language for can convince the public, for that you have to have a god tone of voice and a position corporal, because if you don’t manage well this can happen to you as well to in the Gingrich’s Performance in the last debate for the presidency of USA, he doesn’t give a really good speech making that the attitude of the attendees be boring, and of the poor interest in that he was saying because the people that stay here be with the hands over mouth, arms crossed etc. losing a lot of voting stock.(2)
To sum up is important manage well the body language because if you don’t do it you can have some problems in the different cultures and situations of daily life son for prevent this you can practice for can have a good body language and can express well in the different situations and so in the future you will be a successful person because can visit different cultures without problem and can be in public and manage well your body and convince the public for obtain a benefit.

Non-verbal communication around the world
ResponderEliminarIn this blog you are going to find some information about the non-verbal communication and the importance of this process of communication in the daily life. Through some examples you are going to be able to identify the meaning of gestures, posture, facial expressions, eye contact, proximity, silence, vocal nuance and other kind of non-verbal communication signs and the difference between the meaning of these signs in different countries and environments.
Non-verbal communication is a group of all the messages transmitted without using any spoken words so messages can be communicated trough gestures and touch, by body language or posture, by facial expression and eye contact. Basically it is sending and receiving messages in a variety of ways without the use of verbal codes and most speakers and listeners are not conscious of this. In facial expression we can find the most common: smiling, winking and lips. For example In Asia the Chinese usually smile when they are discussing a sad or uncomfortable topic, winking has different connotations, in Latina America means a flirting sign, in Nigeria winking means an order to leave a room and in China is a sign of be rude and the lips in Venezuela are used to point at something. In terms of gestures we can find in Latin America a shrug with the palms facing the skyward is a vulgar gesture, in Colombia tapping the underside of the elbow with the fingers of the other hand suggest that someone in stringy and in Iran the thumbs-up has a vulgar connotation.
Other field of the non-verbal communication is the importance of respect the personal space because in some countries like United States it is not appropriate to standing close to people who are not well known and in the Middle East the people usually stand quiet close when talking with each other, so different in countries like Colombia where is normal to be close to other people when they are talking. Related to the respect of the space, other kind of non-verbal communication sign is touching so in Latin America and Eastern Europe is common a light touching or kiss to cheek is something normal like a strong warm handshake, but in Asia is offensive touch another person head because Asians prefer less physical contact, so if you are planning to travel to Asia you have to remind that its not well seen a lot of physical contact and in African countries the left hand is reserve for bodily hygiene, so you should never offer the left hand to shake hands or accept a gift.
In Colombia to say yes we use to move our head up and down, and to say now we use to move our head from side to side, but the Lebanon and Saudis have other ways to say yes and no with their heads. To say yes the signal may be a nod of the head and the signal to say no is to pointing his or her head sharply upward and raise the eyebrows this is for Lebanon and Saudis the signal for yes is to swiveling their head from side to side and the signal for no is to tipping their head backward and clicking their tongue.
To summarize there are a lot of ways to express our feelings trough our body, eyes and contact with others, and these kinds of non-verbal communication could have a different connotations in different countries, so a smile not always is a sign of happiness, winking could a sign of rudeness, lips are not usually use to give a kiss and too much physical contact with others would be unrespect full. So it’s important to know the different meanings of the non-verbal communication and learn when we can use those sings to give a clear message.

Dear Miguel,
EliminarI really like the way you organized the paper and the examples included, good job! :) The introduction is great, it is clear and gives a clear picture of the text.
I would like to suggest to consider the use of prepositions and the use of punctuation marks. I think it is a very positive aspect to include the references you used, but when your references are only taken from the web your paper may lack academic relevance. ;)
Good Job!

ResponderEliminarThe purpose of this blog is to describe the importance of non-verbal communication. Non-verbal communication is the visual display what someone thinks and feels in a punctual moment, how they dress, speak, and move, It is sending and receiving messages by using your body (nonverbal cues) instead of the use of words, nonverbal cues like gestures, eye contact, facial expressions, posture, clothing and personal space, tone of voice and pitch. It is very important to handle the body language because the nonverbal cues help you to keep your messages short and concise keeping people motivated and attentive, in order to do control it we have to know what it is the common mistakes when we use our body language in our daily life and work and how to improve it.
ResponderEliminarOur body language shows about how we feel better than we articulate verbally. All of the physical gestures we make are interpreted by others, so if we used it in a wrong or inappropriate way the people who are listening will believe we are not saying the truth or maybe we cannot convince them. For example if you are presenting a speech in public and you are not using well your body language the audience are going to be bored or distract or maybe they will stop listen to you, also if you are in foreign culture you can offend native people by using some cues of body language and probably you will get punch or perhaps in some kind of trouble. Furthermore if you use your body language in an inappropriate way you can indicate shyness, resistance or even an effort to separate yourself from others for example if you touch your chin while looking at someone they may think you are judging them.
As I said Body language is the visual display what someone thinks and feels in a punctual moment, how they dress, speak, and move, so it is very important to be aware of our body language when we are working or in a business reunion, there are some importing cues when we are in the business environment, for example how close you stand can represent that you are polite, have trust or a big friendship or with a handshake you can transfer or let the other person know if you are weak, arrogant or trustful in addition it is important to have the correct eye contact because depending of that you can transmit trust or you can intimidate and make uncomfortable an audience or a person.
You can improve your body language at work realizing which signals or body language you use when you are communicating, you can talk to a collage or someone you trust, they will tell you if your handshake is good, the closeness to people, and if your eye contact is correct also when you are in an important meeting start speaking about ordinary/easy things in order to know how your voice sounds and identify the changes when you are about to close the deal.
To sum up it is important to control and be aware of our body language at work or in our daily life because non verbal cues help you to keep your messages short an concise, keeping people motivated and attentive, I will use these knowledge because it will help me to communicate my thoughts and ideas effectively giving me a competitive advantage in the workplace, in a organization or in the classroom.

IMPORTANCE OF LEARNING YOUR OWN BODY LANGUAGE (Alma Ariza Fortich) PART 1
ResponderEliminarSince the beginning of humans, the communication has being transforming into just non verbal to a mixing between verbal and non verbal communication. The first part happened when there were not languages as a verbal category, but since the humans organize verbal language the tools to communicate are mixed. Nowadays it´s difficult to identify the percentages of incidence between these forms of communicate, even though people constantly forget that they are transmitting information and what they really think using gestures, movements, even the way they are looking each other.
Body language is non verbal communication transmitted through gestures, is a big part of every conversation. The meaning of what the person is “saying” through non verbal communication depends on the context and the culture that is used, so it is very important that everyone identify the most used and learn to control the body language that what could change the meaning of what the person is trying to say with words.
Thus, the purpose of this document is invites everyone to consider non verbal communication usually used by each one in order to avoid misused of body language during their conversations.
Sometimes the body language is involuntary, such when someone´s cheeks turns red (blushing). It could mean that she/he is ashamed or angry (it depends on the context). People should know if this happens to them and as soon as it is difficult to control, they should try to calm down in order to prevent it as possible as they could.
Non verbal communication could also be voluntary, like when you smile to your teacher/boss when you try to get permission or when you say hello to someone by moving your eyes or your head in the direction of that who you are greeting. These kinds of gestures are easy to control, but sometimes people use it in an involuntary way, so as soon as it is a form of communication, everyone should reflect the most used gestures so they could organize when or where are need it.
That is way people should be aware of their own body language, and also the gestures and postures of the people around you. Take care of the intonation of your voice, it could send a wrong message: ¿are you anxious? The hands on your head could means desperation or be a praying sing.
EliminarAs important as it is in your whole life, nonverbal communication turns in a very important component in a work environment. The way a person dresses could transmit respect or confident. That´s why everyone needs to keep on mind, not just what is saying, but also what is communicating through body language: gestures, props, where you look transmit what the person really fells. Keeping their job could depend on these simple things:
o Work on your own body language, before you try to read the others.
o Dress the way you want to be seen, and be careful on the context you are moving.
o Handshake firmly, straight, not showing much soft or weakness.
o Take care on your shoulders: having it dropped should mean weakness.
o Be aware on the speed of your words: to fast could mean anxious or nervousness.
o Your eyes are a constant transmitter: Where do you look during a meeting could mean weakness or dominance. The majority facial expressions are conveyed through eyes.
o Prepare ordinary things to talk in non-ordinary meetings, in order to have a “plan B” in a negotiation. It will also help, if you ask help to a friend that could listened you and check on your body language.
o If you decided to work on the reading of the others nonverbal communication, start with the pupils: dilated pupils’ means excited, constricted pupils could mean lie.
Work environment is just one example of the importance of non verbal communication. Body language is a very important form of transmitting ideas that should be managed in order to complete the oral way used to communicate. Forgetting this simple idea could be a source or troubles. Moving to much your hands could send a wrong idea of the content of a conference, no matter how much you have prepared it. To see someone directly in the eyes could means that you are really interesting of what that person is saying, but also might be an aggressive language. Thus, the context and also the culture where a person is moving, have to be understood in order to learn those signs and expressions that could have different meanings.
Three cases could help to recognize the value of body language and real problems that could have who misusing it, and, of course, invite everyone to learn about their own body language:
EliminarColombian people would never forget one of many special intervention of a person that until recently was Colombia presidencial candidate. In August 27th 1997, the Chamber of Commerce met the Colombian presidencial candidates in a forum where they could show their ideas and debate about it. In the middle of an arguing between Horacio Serpa and Antanas Mockus, this one threw to Serpa a glass of water, wetting all. The real intention of Mockus, as he said, was to show a non aggressive violence, and teach tolerance. The place crowd, of journalists raises this episode to a weapon against Antanas in his different attempts to reach the rol of Colombia President. Lot of people read in this situation an evidence of the possible health problems of Antanas.(http://www.eltiempo.com/archivo/documento/MAM-639106. Consulted on February 28th, 10 p.m).
This kind of misunderstanding happens not only to candidates but also to actual states presidents. In November 2007, during a middle of a President´s meeting, Spain Government President, Zapatero, was arguing against Hugo Chavez, Venezuela President, who has just expressed his opinion about the previous Government President (Aznar). Chavez used his turn to speak despising on Aznar´s government. When Zapatero takes his turn to speak, tried to clarify and also defend the previous government, but Chavez do not let him talk, interrupting him constantly, moved his hands and made gestures. Spain´s King, Juan Carlos, who was present in that meeting in a desperate action shouted out Chavez: “Porqué no te callas?” (Why don´t you shut up?). Chavez clearly misused body language, and also King Juan Carlos did. Both of them forgot not only protocol, but also a simple rule of communication: taking turns, especially in the scenario where they used the expressions said below. Allowed someone to talk mean not only be quiet but also be still, in order to listened who is talking. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3Kzbo7tNLg consulted on February 28th, 10:21 p.m.)
You should be aware of your own body language because other people could be “reading” it. Experts identify in Presidents Clinton gestures the lie about Monica Lewinsky, by “reading” his face during this session: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUDppdVXeMw (consulted on March 4, 6:25 p.m.)
Check on your hands movement when you are talking, especially to a big audience, speaks slowly in order to transmit security, try to maintain your gestures in control, specially your face. This is simple to say but you will reach the goal if constantly remember that it is not only what you are saying but also the way you do it.
That is way people should be aware of their own body language, and also the gestures and postures of the people around you. Take care of the intonation of your voice, it could send a wrong message: ¿are you anxious? The hands on your head could means desperation or be a praying sing.
ResponderEliminarAs important as it is in your whole life, nonverbal communication turns in a very important component in a work environment.

The importance of non-verbal communication in modern day society
ResponderEliminarThe purpose of these blog is to analyze in depth the knowledge we have won these five week by researching and reading about the non-verbal communication. By writing this thesis I become aware of the importance of it and reflect which role it plays in the real life. Here in the Blog I also can read what my other classmates learn and think about the non-verbal communication so that we can share it and learn from each other.
The earth is the home for a lot of people with different interest. To maintain this world the persons have to communicate to meet agreements and keep it for the next generations. There are two ways of communication the first is the normal verbal sign knowing as language by words which can also derive between countries and the second is the non-verbal communication.
Non-verbal communication is the way of communication without words. There are non-verbal communication elements which are often used also unconsciously by persons like gesture, facial expressions and posture. It reveals what you are thinking and feeling at the moment and also what the person wants to hide and it tells more than the person wants to say.
The body language is one important aspect of communication it can support or reveal which message you want to send to your listener. You have to be very careful with this tool because it can have different functions like to substitute your word or you can accent or repeat something what is important to you. If you communicate with other culture it can be seen as rude if you repeat something several times. Maybe a normal movement of you can produce a big misunderstanding between two persons. Therefore you have to control the elements like the eye contact, the gesture, the handshake and others. The wrong use of body language leads to an undesirable and embarrassing situation. During a negotiation between two important companies you do not need a mistake.
Now I will present you tree of the body language elements which are for me the most important and after that I will you show a situation from the daily life in which this tool has been used inappropriately.

EliminarAt the beginning we will start with the posture of a person which can reveal which position the person want to take during a conversation or it can also show how you feel. If you are slouching it can be seen as rude or if you bow with your body can be criticized. Therefore you have to care how your body stands. In a job interview it is important to show that you are the one for the job but do not be aggressive with your body but do not sit there like a persons who is not interested because it will means that the meeting is not important to you. You can watch this video to see what I mean http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bAgEmihzLs.
EliminarThe next element is the handshake you give to other person when you meet him at first time or as a greeting. It is important because it is the first impression the other person has about you. That is why you have to care about how is your handshake. If it is soft it is a sign of weakness and if it is to firm it gives the impression of overconfidence. This can be very important also in the highest floor by the presidents. In these videos you will see that by the first president Obama the handshake of him is bundle of energy and his partner is a little bit shock. Here Obama has too much self-confidence he has to be more polite. The second video shows the refuses to a hand shake which is derogatory to the other person. This is very impolite and should not be done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=6P5SshxJZz4 or also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BN_wsMA_LJA&feature=related
The last elements I want present you are the facial expressions and the eye movement. These are expressions which communicate the attitude, emotions and intensions of the speaker it can be shown as a smile or a raise eyebrow and looking to the bottom of the room. It can reveal one secret you have therefore see the person in the face not directly in the eyes but do not look at the roof or bottom. The example I have found shows that the person is not really concentrated in what is going on he is looking at the woman.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&feature=endscreen&v=yrmUf8uASxo
As we have learnt the use of the non-verbal communication is more important as the words you are saying. The boy language like the facial expressions or your eyes reveal more than you want, you have to be prudent, the message you send with your body can be received erroneous and the result will be not gratifying.
For me as a prospective international business woman I will work for an important company which has connections with other companies around the world. Therefore I have to know the difference between several cultural dimensions which also has to do with the body language. For a successful negotiation between my partner and me, I will be in advance because I know already the diversity of the body language between the persons and the cultures. I am going to read his non-verbal communication to know how to react concerning his thoughts and feeling of the negotiation so that we will not have any confusion and we will close our deal successfully.

ResponderEliminarImportance of good using of non verbal communications
ResponderEliminarNowadays people use non verbal communications every day but they are not aware of such activity. Non verbal communication is usually understood as the process of communication through sending and receiving wordless messages 1 . Knowing that non verbal communication can be any type of expression or any no word message people should be even more careful when using body language. The purpose of this text is to show people some of the kinds of non verbal communication type of signals, used inappropriately in some daily life situations in order to avoid being considered rude or perish with any other consequence. Specifically in this text there are going to be assessed three situations; the office, traveling abroad and friendly meetings.
As mentioned before, there are going to be assessed three situations. The first is body language and non verbal communication at the work place. At the work place people have to be quite careful with the way they express, because if this doesn’t occur maybe an unwanted message is going to be delivered. This includes since the moment you greet somebody, when you interact with that person, until you say goodbye. In this paper, there is going to be assessed the most common problem at the work place, which is sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is defined as unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature 2 . But not always sexual harassment is occurring, sexual harassment can occur in some situation in which body language is not being well used. For example, if you call someone by using your finger aiming at you, some people may understand that you are sexually harassing someone. This is why the use of your body language it’s so important 3 .
The second situation of daily life that is going to be assessed is the use of non verbal communication when you travel abroad. Taking into account every country uses different spoken languages, this highlights that non verbal communications may have some changes as well among these. For example, if you are going to the middle east people with greater power will have to enter a place last, this meaning that if you are entering through a door after them this means you are saying them you have more power than them 4 . So if you are a guest in someone’s Middle East place, you have to pass through the door first in order to avoid being rude. These kinds of situations are going to affect negatively your experiences of travelling around the globe.
The third and final situation is known as a social greeting among people. This situation exemplifies how people use their body when meeting someone. This greeting situation could happen with anybody, with your closes friends or someone you just met. When people salute someone, you can identify if those people are close friends, just meeting, or just business partners. This is being identified by the distance from each other when they address each other. This is a very helpful information due to the fact that you may know how to greet everyone differently depending on the person, in order to avoid uncomfortable situations.
In conclusion, it can be said that body language and non verbal communication is a very important subject to take into account in every aspect of our lives. As non verbal communication is the biggest way to express feelings and thoughts, people should be more aware to control it in every situation, in order to avoid bumpy situations that may affect daily living from its natural course.

ResponderEliminarThe importance non verbal communication in modern society
Communication is the most important way of contact between people around the world.
There are many ways of communication but non verbal form is one of the most important communication resource in a complex modern society, in where all things occur in fast form.
Non verbal communication has a personal label in which you use your body language represented by feelings, behaviors and thinking.
There are specific non verbal elements represented by eye contact, gestures, facial expressions, posture, tone voice and intonation. These elements are part of yourself and these represented your non verbal communication label.
According with this, you can consider the follow internet directions that support these ideas:
http://helpguide.org/mental/eq6_nonverbal_communication.htm
http://psychology.about.com/od/nonverbalcommunication/tp/nonverbaltips.htm
The non verbal communication importance in the modern society is:
When you use non verbal communication add energy, dynamism and character to communication.
When you use non verbal communication permits to others interpreted to you.
When you use non verbal communication can express your messages totally.
According with this, you can see a specific video that support these ideas: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfDWQG47pAQ
Non verbal communication is an excellent strategy in the academy activities when you are a university professor. Non verbal communication adds energy, dynamism and character to your classes. On the other hand it is part of yourself with a university professor.
Non verbal communication can improve the learning process, furthermore can stimulate the explorer ways about non verbal communication in the students and it can enrichment the relation between student-professor.
It is important to consider another aspect about the non verbal communication. This aspect is the misuse body language (non use or exaggerate use) is possible that the message can be interpreted in an incomplete form, with a cold reception, bad reception and it produce a confusing interpretation in general.
The misuse body language generates conflict in the non verbal communication interpretation. It´s possible that during the communication process appear the misuse body language here it is important that you can recognize this situation for improvement and you can generate an excellent communication between people.
My goal in the future according with this topic is improve at respect. I´m secure that if I improve at respect I am going to be a better person, a better professor and a better world citizen. I am going to go to generate diverse class sceneries in which my students and I could explore the importance non verbal communication and each one could explore yourself body language. Furthermore I want to consider this topic for myself.
In conclusion the non verbal communication is the relevant complement to the communication which is not only verbal communication by words. Non verbal communication is the soul of the communication. It´s the energy and the strategy for people could communicate and understand the relevance of the communication around the world. The non verbal communication is an excellent resource for growing in the relationship in all level, personal, familiar, work place and in general inside the society.
Finally in my personal situation I am a world citizen and a university professor, the non verbal communication produce a positive question about myself grow in pro my personal communication with myself, my students, mi family, my friends and in general with another people around the world.
Body language means communication with the movement or position of the human body. It can be conscious – or unconscious.
ResponderEliminarIt is something that is noticed by everybody but is not always given enough attention. We sometimes ignore it and try to hide behind words, but we should never forget that we cannot fool everyone.
1. The posture is important too, so you have to sit up straight and face others when talking.
2. If you are talking with a work partner, you always have to maintain eye-contact because trhough this your gonna be able to build a rapport with him, and the message will be clear.
3. Hands and facial expresion are really important at office, try to use the most common symbols at your work, It´s help you to make funny and comfortable your days.
4. Facial expressions are the first impact in others, remeber people always put your personality according to you first facial expression or you usual facial expression.
5. A smile can be true when the eyes are smiling too. It seems false, when only the mouth smiles.
If you are standing and talking with someone, certain positions can be viewed as aggressive. Arms crossed over chest may be viewed as defensive, and hands on hips translate to “You can’t tell ME what to do.” Stand in a comfortable body position that is not slouching in order to convey attentiveness and openness. Using slight hand gestures while speaking suggests you are animated is an example of appropriate workplace body language.
Determining appropriate workplace body language in regards to touching other people is a very “touchy” subject. While a firm handshake is welcome, touching another person on the arm, slapping them of the back or clapping them on the shoulder may not be. It helps to get to know people before you venture, if ever, into any touching beyond a handshake. Some people will perceive this as fine while others may feel uncomfortable with it.
Rolling the eyes, checking your watch, not focusing on a speaker or not making eye contact can all be viewed as workplace body language that says “I’d rather be doing something else.” Clenching the fists communicates anxiety or tension, and scratching your nose or forming a steeple with your hands expresses disinterest. Leaning back from another speaker says you’re either uncomfortable with the person’s ideas or are not interested.
When you try to interpret body language, you must interpret in relation to what is being said with words; otherwise misunderstandings can easily arise. It must be judged as a whole.
Several elements must be in accordance if you are to draw any firm conclusions about a person. He or she being insecure for example.
In order to reach your conclusion you must also pay attention to facial expression, the mouth's position, eye movements and pupil dilation and retraction.
Research has shown that the speaker's face is the most reliable source of information about the mood of a person.
It is through visual experiences that happiness, surprise, anger or contempt is communicated while auditory experiences communicate fear. In order to ascertain the mood of the speaker you must observe facial muscles..
How they are tightened and loosened.
How the lines around the mouth are softened.
How the wrinkles around the eyes can make them shine with happiness when that is the feeling the face has to express.
The same features express anger and contempt, while softer features are taken to express kindness and friendliness - but note: only if the feelings also extend to the eyes. A mouth that smiles without the eyes smiling as well sends signals of falseness and unreliability.
Eyebrows that rise up and down rapidly signal acceptance of social contact. If you raise your eyebrows and keep them raised for a while it signals surprise and astonishment - perhaps even indignation.
Dear Felipe,
EliminarI would like you to consider the instructions to write the papers. The introduction is not well strucutred, you provide some items but the way they are organized gives the idea of a list.
The examples you include are appropriate and well explained, however, you did not use any author or reference to support them.
It is very important for this paper, and the ones you are going to write, to consider the impact of punctuation and loose sentences, there are some sentences that are related to the topic but they seem to be separated ideas.
There is no conclusion.
The relevance of non-verbal communication in today’s society
ResponderEliminarNowadays people have to interact all the time, but there are a lot of media who are avoiding face to face communication. This is really worrying because we enrich ourselves in the way we talk and meet with other people. We spent many hours chatting on the phone and laptops and don’t realize which paramount is received a feedback with someone else when we are interact, for this reason, currently people are losing “The real communication” because body language has an important role inside it. That’s why this blog is specially created in order to evaluate what we think about culture and aspects such as non- verbal communication in society.
To begin with, it is necessary to understand clearly what non- verbal communication is, the authors of "Communication Counts" refine the definition further to explain nonverbal communication as "vocal or non-oral messages not expressed linguistically." Or in simple words is the process when you give and receive messages without words, but using gestures, eye contact, posture, clothing and space. Sometimes we say more with our body than using our words, because it displays what you are thinking and feeling in a specific moment.
Nonverbal communication is vital in a conversation, because you received several cues and you know when people are listening and understanding what you are saying, moreover if the discussion is getting bored or is really interesting. This part of communication provides lots of information for example, you recognize when someone is telling you a lie only by eyes contact or the way the person move his/her hands. Another important aspect is the cultural, today everything is around globalization, and we are in a multicultural world. Because of it we need to be aware the way we express our feelings, since to other people can be disrespectful for example handshake or staring for a long time.
The field of nonverbal communication use is huge, so I am going to emphasize in three of them, how it affects relationships and culture, Body language in children and the importance in business environment.
First of all, Children speak their own language through various cues and gestures, know what they want to say us or understand what kids are thinking it’s a really embarrassment situation, because every day they are clever and developed. For instance, some children shrug their shoulders, throw their hands up in the air or storm off with heavy feet to show they are angry or upset. Gestures are typically paired up with verbal communication, but they don't have to be. Each child is different, so it is important to spend time with a child to learn his gestures and meanings. They are a surprise box, and today parents have to be aware because it’s getting more difficult and probably you can’t understand what they are trying to express.
EliminarBusiness world is quite complex and more competitive, for that reason it is really important taking into account the nonverbal communicate use to get a job, for example, if you are in an interview you have to follow several steps, look the interviewer into his face not directly into his eyes because could be challenging, using a right posture is more effectively communicate your message, does not invade his personal space by getting too close and do not confuse communications by trying to exchange messages from too far away and finally at the moment of handshaking you have to be not too hard but not too weak.
The last example is about how body language affects in a relationship and culture, for example in Cambodia, people express in a different way, the head is believed to contain the person soul therefore it is a taboo to touch or point at the head. And their greeting is not handshaking; they are similar to Japanese people (bowing and their palms together). It is not polite to have eye contact with someone who is older or someone who is considered a superior. Cambodians laugh in both in negative and positives situations and it is difficult to identify and differentiated. If you are invited to dinner at home, don’t cross your legs it means you are an impolite person .They are many rules in order to interact and respect other cultures in body language so is necessary that we understand these differences in order to have a good interaction and relationship.
To sum up, Nonverbal communication is the most important part of each interaction, because you completed your message and be sure and safe if it is understood when you use body language. The way we dress, we look and our moves provide to other people what we are actually thinking. Moreover, if we have an excellent appropriation of body language can be useful at moment to get a job, in business, in an relationships and understanding cultural differences.

It is a good reflection :) I like the way references are related to your examples. Examples and references provieded are clear and appropriate for the purpose of the paper. The paper is well organized.
EliminarI would like to suggest you the following: avoid the use of contractions in an academic paper. Check the use of some relative clauses/pronouns, some grammar structures
Good Job!

ResponderEliminarReflection
Going thru different cultures we can find relevant aspects that can change from one context to an other. Body language is not only a physical expression of ones culture; it is also a physical expression of ones thoughts and feelings. In this reflection I am aiming to bring on the most important things when talking about body language and importance in human communication.
Non- verbal communication is known as the physical expressions of human thoughts, feelings and behaviours. It shows a person intrinsic side as well as a culture position in different aspects. Non- verbal communication is important when getting to know someone, since being able to read those non verbal signs will allow us to find out more about the other person. It is also important when interacting with people from all over the world, since you should be able to differentiate from one culture to an other by their body language.
When going thru different aspects of body language, the one that got my attention the most was: how to read body language in order to find out what a person is really thinking or feeling. I found this a very interesting thing to learn about, since it is very important when applying for a job, giving interviews, and even when getting to know people in social events.
Trying to find out more about how to read body language, I found some famous cases. One of them was Tiger Woods, who is an American golfer who got more recognition for his love scandals than for his golf abilities. He is a perfect example of how body language can betray our verbal communication, when in 2010 he gave a public speech apologizing for his inappropriate behaviour (cheating on his wife with more than ten women). In the same year an expert in reading body language, Stan B. Walters, analyzed Woods speech and after having a deep look at his face gestures and his tone of voice he found out how Woods was very sorry for letting his fans down and how he wasn’t that much sorry for hurting his wife.
The same expert, Stan B. Walters, analyzed President Clinton declarations in 1998, when he tried to make clear he was not having an affair with Monica Lewinsky. Reading body language it was pretty obvious that he was exalted and stressed with the situation, what lead him to react in a quite aggressive way and making clear he didn’t want to talk about it anymore.
As it may happen in public speeches, it happens in daily life activities. Being aware of our body language and being prepare to handle it is important when applying for a job, for example, since you may get asked things you are not prepare to answer. You may find the right thing to say, but is your body reinforcing your statement? Or is it contradicting it?
Finally and after analyzing different cases is very important to get to know our own body language. Are we aware of our physical reactions when we are being surprised? Or stress? Or even lying? If we are not, we should try to put our selves in different positions where we could prove our selves and get to know our body language better. Also when making a presentation or giving a speech is important to work an rehearsal our body language, in order to, first, get people attention and the right attention we want from them, and second, to reinforce our statement with our body language. As we do that we will be aware of other people body languages as well, and it will allow us to save time and don’t spend it in trying to get to know people who we are not really willing to know.

Very interesting examples, although they do not relate to cross-cultural understanding. I like the way you relate your example to the topic though. The reflection was appropriate and enriching.
Do not forget to include apostrophies when refering to possessions. I would like you to verify the use of some punctuation marks.
Good Job!

ResponderEliminarCommunication distinguishes humans from other live beings in this world. It is a gift we have in life to cooperate with eachother, and share ideas and what we learn from our experiences. Communicating has evolved the world now that we dont only learn from our life but we learn from what others teach us with communication. We usually concentrate in what we shall say, or how should we use language with eachother, but non-verbal communication has been studied and it is no longer a secret that we communicate much more with our bodies that we do talking to eachother.
Non-verbal Communication affects us all and its a topic everyone should be aware of. This communication is the concious and subconcious messages our bodys communicate. It is very important all around the world to interpretate each other and it totally helps to get us to understand and learn from the people we know. Its a way to clarify the meaning of what someone is saying and even our confidence and lifestyle can be seen from non verbal communication. Facial expressions communicate your intentions and reinforces the topic spoken, it communicates interest and knowledgement from the person. We commonly communicate our emotions and our feelings through this communication and we dont even think about it. The body is totally connected to our life and it reacts to its experiences in life, also helping others to see clearly what someone is meaning. This means its a great responsability to no missuse our bodys and its messages to the people we interact with.
Body language can have you pass an uncomfortable time when you miss use it. Cultures have different ways of communicating, and face gestures, personal space, and hand use can be annoying for someone without you knowing. Being concious of our body demonstrates you are in control of your self and waht you want to exprees to other people.
In many cultures greeting someone with a kiss in the cheek is seen as a respectuful way, while in other cultures this is seen as a wrong sexual message. In some eastern countries its normal to talk face to face with someone, know that this is a message that you are paying atention, in the western hemisphere we are used to have a personal space of at least 1 meter, and only close relationships are allowed to overpass this space in certain moments. People use their hands to communicate very often but we should be aware of pointing, or even when we show the two numbre like some usually do could be very offensive.
Body language is key for communication around the world, most of these movements we arent even concious, and if we get to control our actions, we will certainly get our communication much clear. Travelling is one common dream, and we should all learn about cultures around the world and mostly body language to bond in easier in the different cultures. Also in our work we shall communicate to our coleagues, and these non-verbal communication tools will help. Applying this properly will help us to grow in knowledge, have better personal relationships, ace interviews and least but not less important to understand and to live the world we are in.
Non-verbal communication – a decisive factor for success in today’s world (by Anne Limper-Menapace)
ResponderEliminarWe all have had misunderstandings, fights and arguments – but seldom are we aware of the fact that they could have been not due to the content of the words, but because of the way they are said – non-verbal communication. It can be defined as the virtual display of what someone thinks or feels, that means that while we are speaking, we are subconsciously contradicting or reinforcing our point. This can change the course of a whole conversation or even a whole relationship and therefore it can be significant in such different situations as an intercultural negotiation, a job interview or a casual fight with a friend. For this reason, this blog aims to raise awareness of one’s body language. More specific, I am going to talk about different aspects of gestures, facial expressions and tone of voice.
The voice tone is so important for communication that companies have even created guidelines for employees who have regular contact with the customers, especially on the phone. They name the voice “the best vehicle for making the customer trust you” , emphasizing the importance of the voice radiating friendliness, warmness and confidence for the successful interaction with the customer. Advices to achieve that are smiling while speaking, drinking a lot of water and sitting up straight.
Gestures on the other hand can have an important influence on intercultural communication; for example, the well-known “thumbs-up” commonly means that everything is okay, but in other cultures it can mean something completely different: In Australia and Iran it symbolizes rudeness, in Nigeria it is considered very offensive and in Turkey it stands for a political rightist party. Consequently, a little gesture can ruin the most promising business deal.
As for facial expressions, they are very hard to control but easily readable for the counterpart: If we are saying that we agree with something and at the same time are raising our eyebrows, the other person will know immediately that what we are saying is not completely true. This can intensify or cause fights and damage relationships.
So what to do about that? Be aware of and careful with your body language. It is impressive to see its real impact on every aspect of daily life. In the future, prepare and practice your body expressions before important situations and recognize its importance even in daily conversations – it is not always your boyfriend misunderstanding you, you could also be the guilty one sending him contradicting signals.

Dear Anne,
EliminarI found your references and examples very enriching for the topic and in that way for the paper. I just have some comments regarding the use of colloqial langauge. It is highly recommended to use a more academic style in this kind of reflections, questions are great but in a way they give the sense you are talking to a friend.
I love how you motivate you audience to reflect upon the issue under reflection that is a very positive aspect.
Good Job! :)
In today's world, which is fully globalized and in which communication is very important to establish good and strong relations of all kinds such as commercial, industrial, academic relationships, among others, for attaining this we have to emphasize the importance of nonverbal communication, but what is nonverbal communication? The body language is the way we express what we feel and what we think about a specific situation in a conversation, all we express is unconscious and is too hard to learn to manage the nonverbal communication consciously. The ability to understand and use nonverbal communication is a powerful tool that will help you connect with others, express what you really mean, navigate challenging situations, and build better relationships at home and work. The body language includes face gestures, movements and posture, eye contact, also the way we greet.
ResponderEliminarThe facial expressions never lie and the facial expressions for happiness, sadness, anger, surprise, fear, and disgust are the same across cultures. You can identify the mood of a person in an specific time for example, when the person don’t want to establish a conversation or when the person has something important to said, or simply when the person is saying lies. Also we can percept the way the person sit, walk, stand up. Posture, bearing, stance, and subtle movements are important too to identify the mood of another person, for example you can identify if a person is happy or bored for the way that person put his legs or arms. Eye contact is also an especially important type of nonverbal communication. The way you look at someone can communicate many things, including interest, affection, hostility, or attraction. For example the eye contact is different between people in love and in a business relationship.
To finish, good communication is the foundation of successful relationships, the majority of signs that we use are nonverbal signs, and for the nowadays society it is very important for the really good relationships and for the people know what you mean and understand it correctly.

Tania Chinchilla. We use body language in our daily routines every time we talk and establish a conversation with other we are using our body to speak. That’s why is so important to learn on how to use our body every time we speak with others on we do a speech. We need to learn how to use our hands, our voice.
ResponderEliminarNevertheless with our Body language can be defined as a visual display of someone thinking or feeling. For example, in the workplace environment, we can see through the body language how people manage and be in a work situation. In the workplace environment, is good to see people gestures, position of the body and the way that they speech and the speed they use to talk because that give us a little bit of that person. However, you can see variants from one person to another.
You have to recognize and see three things in the non verbal communication, one of them is: Distance (that the people use between them) like Greetings, trust established, and shake: the hand shake, that must firm and slight and off course it´s important to maintain eye contact.
if the person, have the eyes up, you can think, that, they are recording what you are saying, if the person have the eyes down, you can think that they are avoiding your conversation or maybe they feel less than you.
It´s important to practice in work place environment how we manage and how we talk to others and how others talk to us, to learn to read other people body language and know what they are feeling and thinking. Learning body language, create a better work environment and help us to recognize how people manage and act in a work situation.
If a person, have the eyes up, you can think, that, they are recording what you are saying, if the person have the eyes down, you can think that they are avoiding your conversation or maybe they feel less than you. Here I can give a link of a video in where they show how to use our body languages:

Sometimes is common to have some mistakes, when we are using body language. We need be really careful on how to use our body and to recognize our common mistakes like fold arms when some is talking to us or repeat constantly a word; because these kind of things can be recognize as a: I don’t want to hear you, You are talking too much; I don’t know what to say. Sometimes is good to feel and to be a little bit nervous, that show that you are interest in that proposition, but if you sit a little nonchalant, it might indicate that you are not that interested. Remember that, we can feel and think what the other is thinking or interest because of the use of their body language.
When we interact with others, we continuously give and receive wordless signals. All of our nonverbal behaviours—the gestures we make, the way we sit, how fast or how loud we talk, how close we stand, how much eye contact we make—send strong messages. These messages don’t stop when you stop speaking either. Even when you’re silent, you’re still communicating nonverbally.
The way you listen, look, move, and react tells the other person whether or not you care, if you’re being truthful, and how well you’re listening. When your nonverbal signals match up with the words you’re saying, they increase trust, clarity, and rapport.
Tania Chinchilla 2.When they don’t, they generate tension, mistrust, and confusion.
ResponderEliminarIn conclusion, If you want to communicate better in all areas of your life, it’s important to become more sensitive to body language and other nonverbal cues, so you can be more in tune with the thoughts and feelings of others. You also need to be aware of the signals you’re sending off, so you can be sure that the messages you’re sending are what you really want to communicate.

Non verbal communication is a type of communication using our body language to express our ideas. Gestures, hand movements, the way we look another person, the way we shake our hands and other examples are key aspects when we want to communicate correctly our ideas.
ResponderEliminarThis type of communication is important because it gives the verbal communication more sense and makes the speaker explain their ideas with fluency. When we talk about a funny situation we smile because we really feel that is funny. That makes the listener understand and imagine the situation.
So, if you pretend to communicate something, be sure that your listener will understand. And the most important thing: use correctly the body language in each context. That’s why you have to control your body language in these situations: Work interview, conferences, and talking with people from other countries.
For example, if we go to New Zeland and we make the “good” sing that we use in Colombia, the listener won’t interpret the real meaning of the sing, because there that expression has other meaning: the middle finger. For that reason, it is necessary to use the non-verbal communication with coherence. We have to use the appropriated gestures in the correct moment.
You definitely have to know the cultural differences when you are with someone from other country. Always ask to someone (to a friend) about gestures and body language meaning in other cultures. You don’t lose time if you know it before making the mistake.
If you are in a job interview, be sure of yourself and don’t feel nervous. Because maybe you will start to sweat and you will lose the control of your gestures. Always concentrate in the topic of your interview and be positive. When we let the nerves beat us our gestures and facial expression will reflect that.
Think about this of body language in a work environment: When you look at someone in the eyes you can transmit trust. That makes people feel uncomfortable when the person that you are looking is shy and suspicious. When someone is interested and enthusiastic, their eyes will dilate. But, when someone is concealing something or even lying, their eyes will constrict.
The best way to improve your body language is to talk with a collage or a friend, or somebody in the family that you trust. And ask them if your handshake is good or if you’re standing too close to people or too far away.
Now imagine you in a conference. You are in front of a lot of people and you forgot your topic, your voice went faster and you want to die. The first recommendation for a conference or presentation is to be prepared; I mean investigate about the topic you will speak. The second thing is to practice in front of a mirror or in front of someone. That will give you more confidence and will let you memorize easier the topic. The next step, being in the conference is to use visual help. When you have videos and some key words you will have an order of the conference. It’s important to know the structure of the things you will say. Other aspect is to start looking at the audience. If you that, you will have more contact with them. You can express your ideas more easily by direct contact with the audience.
Breathe. If you control your breathing, you will achieve calm and control your gestures while talking. Pay attention to your hands. Don’t move them a lot and without control, just when is necessary.
Is vital to be able to communicate effectively and be able to listen to what the person is and is not saying. A big part of conversation and communication is projected through the use of non-verbal means.
Non. Verbal Communication.
ResponderEliminarIn order to comprehend how persons interact between each other is necessary to what means communication; and it is defined as a process by which we assign and convey meaning in an attempt to create shared understanding. (OSPI) All this process needs always a GROUP of persons that may have common or different beliefs, manners, lifestyles and behaviors.
The process of communication requires a vast repertoire of skills in intrapersonal and interpersonal processing, listening, observing, speaking, questioning, and evaluating. Use of these processes is developmental and transfers to all areas of life: home, school, community.
Our purpose in this blog is to learn the different ways of communication and interaction that we can have during a conversation.
One important way of communication is the “Non verbal communication” which is based on body language, which permits the use of words to understand and comprehend what the other person wants to communicate us. It s very important to handle this common behaviors, signs and commands because it will give us certain information of the culture and manners of the person whit we want to start a conversation.
Furthermore a non verbal communication has different dimensions that will approximate us to establish and understand how physical appearance, ascents, manners, expressions, differential cultures.
These factors of communication are very important for a modern society that always is thinking in ways of interact between each others, working in the creation of multi cultural relationships in homes, schools, Universities and Countries.
For example, now day’s students and young people, have a very important problem in the way they interact with their authorities, like teacher or fathers. Because of their way of communication, with their closest friends by the use of different words and attitudes that are not suitable to interact with an authority, that’s why is necessary to teach the appropriate words and expressions for the young people to interact correctly in different situations where probably in a multi cultural stage will be necessary to interact and have an accurate communication.
On the other hand, one important example of non- verbal communication are business, new market strategies require us every day to make deals with different countries and cultures to open our markets. As the case of Colombia with United States, a lot of people tend to think that is necessary just to understand and speak English because it is known as the most spoken language around the world. But culture between these two countries is very different. And in the case of close a contract is necessary to handle Non verbal communication information with expressions like shaking hands, smiles, rude faces and different kinds of modals.
Also we can understand the importance of non verbal communication if we want to travel to another country or if we want to establish our life in a culture different than which we come from. As a foreign people we must to study all differences that are important to live together in harmony with native ones. Furthermore if we want to study academic programs in their universities we must know how language start to change depending on the non verbal expressions, because people in most of the cases use face expressions or manners to communicate something without using words.
ResponderEliminarFinally, in a multicultural World where is necessary to begin to know and understand the other person and accept their way of living to start live in harmony. The use of non verbal communication is fundamental such as body language with expressions, manners that can be very different or can be equal. If we are closest to the different ways of lifestyles and relationship commands, we will have bigger and better opportunities to communicate and to have relations with persons that are not in our social groups that will give us hundreds of experiences that probably someone who doesn’t know how to communicate and to understand the other by these non verbal expression will never have.

ResponderEliminarNon-verbal Communication
EliminarUsually when people talks do not pay much attention to what do meanwhile they speak, the way they approach to someone else, or how they act in front of others. The objective of this written is to aware people what non-verbal communication is, and how to use it.
Non-verbal communication refers to facial expressions, hand moves, and props, the way you talk to someone else, how you gesture when defending an idea, or even if you are alone how you act and behave. The buddy language, is the clue piece of this, because throw buddy language you support or denies what you really want to say, is the way you can show up what are you saying by speaking, is a complement when talking. Even when you are trying to talk to someone who does not speak your language, you express yourself by body language. Eye contact, hand shaking, hand movements, and the use of props help you to identify what the other person or yourself, is trying to mean.
Sometimes you do not realize what kind of movements you do when talking, and those are the ones that can be offensive to the other, even when you try to say or express something completely different. People must be very careful, using body language, I cannot argue, this is very important when you speak, but there are some people who do not know how to use it in an appropriate way.
According to your attitude and acts, people will have a first impression of you, by hand shaking, eye contact or simply the way you talk. Those aspects demonstrate if the person is weak, overconfidence, etc.
To contextualize better this situation, I will show you some examples of inappropriately use of body language:
Eliminar• Crossing arms in front of a person signals that you are resistant to ideas and not open to others’ opinions. When speaking with people, especially during an interview keep your hands in your lap. When standing, keep hands at your sides.
• Looking down when speaking is a sign that you are disinterested or feel inferior. Make sure you maintain eye contact without staring. This will let the other person subliminally know that you are interested in what they have to say. If the eyes are the window to the soul, looking at someone when you are talking to them is a strong indicator that you are engaged.
• There is nothing that screams boredom more than the continuous checking of the time in the watch. Do not look at your watch when speaking with someone. You want to convey continued interest in what they are saying. The exchange of information should be an engaging one, not a situation where you appear to be focused on something else.
• A smile is one of the very best ways to communicate sincerity and friendly. Don’t force a smile or smile the entire time. That will look odd and raise questions in the mind of the person you are interacting with. A natural smile will resonate during the interview. A genuine smile involves the entire face, a fake forced smile uses only the mouth, and studies indicate that people are very good at seeing the differences.
• Standing up straight with your shoulders back displays confidence and self-assuredness. Slouching immediately makes you look smaller and is indicative of lack of self-confidence. Your posture serves to deliver a clear and positive message about how you should be treated. Leave a lasting positive impression with good posture
To summarize people must show and expose their opinion and their selves not just speaking but talking with eyes, hands, body posture or position, for being a person that someone can trust in, and to send the accurate message.

Communication is one of the most important things that are related with human interaction. Through the history the language has been evolving from some guttural sounds to structured vocabulary grammar and millions of words to express your ideas. But this kind of language is not the only one that people have learned, there is other that I think is equally important to the first one that I mentioned and this is the body language.
ResponderEliminarWhat is exactly the body language? Is the way how you show feelings and behaviors without talking and its important because if you can look trough what the person is saying you can understand him better and have a such good conversation and interaction without being rude and staying always in a safe talking, in other hand is important to know body language because it could help you to avoid embarrassing situations with people from other countries because what you feel that in your country is cool maybe in their country is kind of rude. Also if you have a good body language you will be seem like a person with self confidence and this can improve a lot of things in personal and professional life.
Basically there some things that you should learn for a good use of body language: the first thing is know how to look the other person in a respectfully way showing interest but not like a fan, in other hand you have to work in your tone voice because when you don’t control it this can bring you misunderstood with other persons other things that should work in are breath control, a good posture, controlling your hands, if you are confused how to don’t look confused etc.
You should be asking where are going there with this, well like I say in the paragraph before, having a good body language can help you in your personal life and professional life, for example when you meet a girl and talk with her if you are a good body language user you should have some extra points because you will look confidence and also you can know some what the girl is thinking and take control over the conversation and in this way if you are interested in the girl get another date. For other side in professional life it could be useful to get better jobs, being a good business men, having and advantage from the rest of people and improve your economical live, for example if you are a seller, when you have good body language you can sell almost wherever you want, because the persons that you are selling to would see that you trust in that product and this will encourage them to buy it.
In conclusion body language is not only important for communication it also helps you in many aspects of your life so you should try to improve it because is not to hard just take some practice and if you can dominated your life should be much easier and you could be a more social person.
